It is likely that because Trump has so odiously acted like he owns the United States Supreme Court, having put three conservative Justices on the bench, that his court might surprise us with highly future objective rulings in order to remove itself from the stench of Trump.
In Tanzin v Tanvir, three Muslim men who said their religious-freedom rights were violated when FBI agents tried to use the no-fly list to force them into becoming informants.
The U.S. Supreme Court, in a unanimous 8-0 opinion (sans Amy Coney Barrett), ruled Thursday that Muslims put on the no-fly list after refusing to act as informants can sue federal officials for monetary damages under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
The court issued the following ruling: “We conclude that RFRA’s express remedies provision permits litigants, when appropriate, to obtain money damages against federal officials in their individual capacities.”
